Be able to select individual parts in an assembly rather than only subassemblies

It would also be nice to be able to select parts in subassemblies. Currently when you select a part in a subassembly, inventor highlights the subassembly and not the part itself. This leaves a person having to search through all the parts in the sub assembly in the model tree to find the actual one they want and be able to open it. Or having to open the subassembly and then open the part they need.

I am using inventor 2020 so just ignore this if it has been changed already. I previously used creo 4.0 and it was a really nice feature to be able to select individual parts in a large assembly rather than just the sub assemblies.

I did not know that. I just tried it out. Is there a way for it to then highlight the item in the model tree once its selected in the assembly? Looks like a guy still has to manually sort through the model tree to then find the part they selected.

Yes. Select the part, right-click, choose find in browser.

You can also open or edit an item by selecting it from the context menu (right click).

I suspect you don't need a browser at all for a lot of things.
