Reference Geometry Idea

Reference Geometry Idea

In the current Autodesk inventor setup, if a user deletes a part that reference geometry is based on, the reference geometry becomes fixed sketch, basically losing its adaptivity. I was wondering if we can introduce a new feature where a new function in the project geometry drop-down menu and name it "Reference Project Geometry" or "Reference Projection" By adding this feature I can re-establish the sketch reference so that any time I change one dimension it changes for the parts I made it adaptive to. This will allow users to select the reference geometry and associate it with a new parent feature or redefine its adaptivity constraints. I understand that in the software, when you initiate a new sketch on ‘Part One,’ for instance, and you wish to reference a sketch from ‘Part Two,’ it automatically treats it as a reference dimension. The idea I’m proposing is to create a separate section in the drop-down menu to make adaptive sketches more efficient.

The Benefits of this is that it will reduce the need for manual updates for each and individual profile and improve overall user experience.

I have attached a photo here to show what I imagine. I will also provide a photoshop file to show the Icon.
