This is already possible because it lets you enter a new name, but when you click outside it returns to the original name. I believe this is an Inventor bug that should be fixed in a future upgrade.
I think Autodesk has not yet seen this error and this idea can be a good way to show the error to them
You could delete one Storyboard once which isn't active: RMB on one inactive storyboard, RMB, delete is enabled and click it to delete the inactive storyboard.
Still not fixed in 2020...Autodesk cares about it's customers about as much as your local DMV. This issue has been around for 3 years or more....of course Solidworks doesn't have to put up with this and if I could get rid of every piece of Autodesk software and switch to that where I work I would. This company's last decent upgrade of anything CAD related was AutoCAD 14....20 years ago....good job people...your company excels at underachieving.
