When creating assembly drawings for production I used numbered notes and use leader text to indicate where they apply.
My drawings sometimes take up multiple sheets so my note numbering system is always "NOTE <Sheet Number>.1"
Late in the drawing I may realise that the notes would be clearer if I reordered them to match the manufacturing sequence. But now I need to renumber my notes AND find and edit the corresponding leader text. This is time consuming and can lead to errors being made.
The Parts List already does what I want. That table can be re-ordered and the corresponding balloons are automatically updated.
I would like the Notes and Leader Text to be organised into a table like the Parts List. That way my note IDs and leader text would always be in sync.
Bear in mind that
- Leader Text may refer to more than one note
- Multiple leaders may refer to the same note
