Make Assembly pattern features only contain extra patterned components

Currently with Inventor, when an assembly part(s) is patterned you lose visibility of said part(s) in the tree due to the name being "Component Pattern (X)" and that assembly feature now consuming the seed part that was placed - this is annoying. It would be great if all the features that I placed specifically using mates were listed in the tree at first level, and then any of the additional patterned components would be shown under a feature of "Component Pattern (X)". It becomes a nuisance with the existing format in trying to find components in the tree for mating, etc.

This is a great idea! It's always bothered me having to expand the component pattern to edit the constraints on the source components, but I never thought of doing it this way. But it makes a lot of sense. This is how part feature patterns work -- the original feature is left at the top level of the tree, and the pattern just points back to it for the first occurrence.

This would also make it much easier to create multiple patterns off of a single source occurrence.

Great idea!
