Make an external iLogic viewer

It would be great to have an external iLogic viewer that lets you open iLogic-rules without having to open the files containing them in the context of Inventor. What I'm looking for is basically the trusty old iLogic editor as a standalone application that can access Inventor-files from either Windows or Vault, so you can swap back and forth from Inventor to this application without closing the iLogic editor within Inventor.

Sometimes it would be practical to be able to see how you did something the last time without needing to close the current window, or you need to see the iLogic-code from some rule in some document to find a portion of the code to copy/paste into the one you're currently working with without loosing track of what you're currently doing (when the code gets long long I find it mentally exhausting to scroll down from top to find my way back to the line I was working with whenever I need to close the iLogic window to open another code).

Alternatively I guess one could acheive the same if the iLogic editor in Inventor had detachable tabs that would let you jump between rules in any part or assembly

So far I've used Notepad for this purpose, and that works allright-ish as long as I know exactly what I'm looking for or where to find it, but I still need to close the current window to open the code I want to look at and/or copy from. Also the colours-on-black color scheme in the iLogic editor is way more pleasant to look at for extended periods of time, and lets you navigate around a little easier, than the black/white in Notepad. And lastly; sometimes it's nice to have a contained little space to fool around with the search/replace functions in without risking to ruin the rest of your code...

We encounter the same thing. I have created an External iLogic rule called "code examples" that I use to host all code like this.

There is also the option of creating an external rule and calling it directly from your iLogic rule using the iLogicVB.RunExternalRule() method. You can even pass parameters into that rule using a NameValueMap object, which makes it very versatile!
