Majority Symbol ability to sort order

Majority Symbol ability to sort order

Greetings.

It would be great, if "Majority Symbol" would have ability to sort order. Currently it is random places (in order as you placed them on the drawing).

Current situation:

Expected situation:

@ReneRepinaLedinek , many thanks for posting the idea to us. Could you have more details about rule we use to sort the symbols? E.g. what value in the symbol we can use for symbol? Many thanks!

Greetings @Yijiang.Cai .

Sorry for late reply, I did not get a notification about your reply.

As for your answer:

You are welcome.

Of course, I will try to help.

As you can see from the example above, main parameter is "Roughness", so it can be sorted by that OR there could also be a list, where user can freely move them up or down. It is a bit tricky, because different standards can have different places for those values.

To help you, AutoCAD already has this logic implemented. See the below examples.

Example:

Example after adding another symbol on the drawing with value of "100":

Example after adding another symbol on the drawing with value of "3.2" + text "Milling":

As you can see, when I added a symbol somewhere on the drawing, it was automatically added and sorted in majority symbol.

Since there is probably a lot of variations, maybe it would be the best that Inventor tries to sort them as best as possible and user can still have a possibility to manual reorder them.

I hope this helps.

Best regards,

Rene Repina
