Anchor points for items (views, sketch symbols, text, tables etc) on drawings for consistant placement.

I'd absolutely love it if we could take items like text, sketch symbols, views and tables and be able to use constraints to the border/title block to be able to position the items where we would like.

When I'm putting together a drawing package, I can have up to 20 sheets of assemblies where each assembly is similar yet different. When I manually try to center the view in the space visually they don't quite line up vs other pages when you flip through a pdf. I also have a sketch symbol and notes that are on most pages.

I'd love to be able to have them show up with the same base location for each drawing. I feel that presenting these drawings with everything in the same position would look way more professional vs having elements slightly off.

The only way I've been able to accomplish this somewhat so far is copying the sheet and replace model reference. which is great for the main view, however when I need to change the sketch symbol associated with the new model it's never in the same spot.

What I'd love to see is an anchor point on the elements and be able to dimensionaly constrain that to elements on the title block and border. This would enable things to be centered within the working space of a drawing (outside the BOM/ Title block).

Thanks!

I've found that Parts Lists and Rev Tables snap to the drawing border/titleblock.  I don't use general tables much, but I'd be surprised that they don't attach too.

Sketch Symbols have some options you might want to try.

@swalton thanks for this. I hadn't played around with this much but I'll have to see if I can change the anchor point on the sketch symbols. I have a library of about 50 of them that I swap out for different projects/assemblies, but if I can set the base point on these that will definitely take a bit of work but will help with the consistency.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention!
