Increment buttons for dimension and pattern input

Increment buttons for dimension and pattern input

Please add these increment buttons wherever you need to input a dimension, number of pattern instances, etc. Number of pattern instances should increase and decrease by one per click. Linear and angular dimensions can default to (say) changing by 10mm and 5 degrees per click, and this increment value should be customisable in the options menu.

If you've never used them before, you may not see the appeal. If you have used them before, they are very notable by their absence. So often you want to bump up or down the number of items in a pattern, or just extend or retract something a little, or adjust a constraint offset distance a bit. With Inventor you have to just keep entering numbers manually by trial and error. With other programs that have this feature, you can easily get it right with a few clicks.

I would like this too. It's these little things that make quite a difference when using Inventor 6-8 hours a day

@ErichJHTCE Indeed. It's much nicer when programs have a good idea of what their users are trying to do and are set up accordingly. Inventor feels like you are serving the program's needs instead.

Although I am skeptical of the efforts that Autodesk is making with regard to customer ideas, I am still contributing.
Nevertheless, I have seen this idea mentioned a long time ago.
Not hindered by too much knowledge, in my explanation a perhaps easy to apply implementation.

Radius Drop Down Menu Preset Value

Hello,

Where can I find the settings for the default value in the radius drop down menu?

Is it possible to adjust the shown number of values for the drop down menu?

Hi! Is this about Fillet command or Sketch Fillet?

Many thanks!

Thanks for your response Johnsonshiue,

Actually, I would like to know this for all type of drop down menus all over Inventor.

With the reason:
I have experienced a CAD application where you can change dimensions using the scroll wheel.
Holding the shift key while scrolling increased the step, adjustable to the user's needs.
Very intuitive and efficient.
You can quickly see what a variation in a certain size means in a design.
To get close to this, it's a little step to implement this in Inventor.
The ability to predefine and extend the drop down lists in combination with the possibility to scroll through the values should be a step in the right direction.
Now the last used value seems to be at the top of a list of only five(5) values.
As for radii, with what we design I would choose for example a row like this:
0.5
01
02
03
04
05
06
08
10
12
15
20
25
30
40
50

The option to scroll through the already existing lines seems to have been suppressed.
I see the ability to scroll through different values in a ListBox/ComboBox as standard functionality.
With a numerical row like my example and the scroll option active we actually have what I described earlier.
In short, one big party with minimal effort.

In programming terms this seems very simple, please discuss this with the Design Team.

I'm looking forward to being able to set it up this way.
Even when this means a registry change I would say.

Hi! This is a very interesting idea. I am not a developer so I cannot comment on the technical difficulty here. At the moment, I am not aware of a near-term plan to make such change. Please feel free to submit this idea to Inventor Ideas forum.

Many thanks!
