Improve Chamfer Creation

Improve Chamfer Creation

Currently the Chamfer dialog is a bit embarrassing. We should be able to chain edge selections, then deselect unwanted edges, we should also be able to select face to chamfer. It's ridiculous how many clicks we have to make to build chamfers in a product as mature as Inventor.

Please improve this asap.

Even Onshape can do it:

Can I add to this? I would like to be able to use the chamfer command to fully chamfer a surface / step rather than having to enter a distance. There are work arounds using the draft, rotate, extrude or direct edit commands but it is creating a chamfer so it should be possible using the chamfer command (without putting in a static measurement).

@Anonymous, here is an idea for specifically what you're asking for that you can vote on: New 'maximum' fillet/chamfer option. Smiley Happy

Well... actually I sort of misspoke. For chamfers, a "Max" option would give you just the right size chamfer for that step. But for fillets, apparently you can actually increase the size of the fillet to be larger than the step and Inventor can still calculate a solution. Actually, there doesn't seem to be a maximum fillet size. So we would need some kind of explicit option for Fillets to "Extend to next face" or something like that.
