IDF Export for MCAD & ECAD interface.

IDF Export for MCAD & ECAD interface.

As it has been requested in the past, there is a need for the ability to export IDF (emn) files. Other major mechanical packages such as Creo support this feature. This is a critical feature for electronic product development.

Inventor's IDF is import only. The ECAD designer can only use DXF files from Inventor for the pcb outline and features. The use of keep outs and height restriction are important as products become smaller.
The ability to export IDF allows the MCAD to drive the ECAD setup. The MCAD pcb can be imported into ECAD with all of the feature (cutouts, keep outs, outlines) built-in. Exporting IDF can allow for pre-placement of critical components such as connectors, cpu's, heatsinks, mounting hardware, etc.

This feature will increase the reliability between the MCAD-ECAD process where manually importing information from DXF files can be error prone.
