I need to make a helical cut in an assembly to represent a machining operation in the assembled or welded state. However, I can't create a 3D sketch in assembly in order to do a sweep cut. I also can't use another solid part (a helical part) to use as a cutting tool and subtract from one or more of the other parts in the assembly, so I see no way to do this currently.
It seems that we need more ways to cut assemblies and weldments to represent all the ways that weldments and assemblies are sometimes machined after they are welded and assembled.
