In Cable and Harness section there should be an ability to make a cable with a fixed length. If I have some ready made cables with connectors and I would like to use them in a gadget I would definitely need that kind of a feature.
Even if this was just implemented as a "type in a fixed length" for the cable/wire, that'd be a help - that is, just overriding the calculated length without worrying about whether the 3D representation adapts to that length.
