CNC Machine File Format DSTV

CNC Machine File Format DSTV

CNC Machine File Format DSTV

Does Autodesk Inventor have a plan to incorporate an option to export more CNC machine file formats?

DSTV & NC1 formats have been around for more than 8 years. My customer will only accept these file types for their machines.

DSTV format is an industrial standard defined by the German Steel Construction Association. AKA .NC1

Thanks

When we design and produce industrial stairs. Now we have to drill many holes manually.

We like to export the parts to a dstv file, so we can have it done by a third party.

They only accept dstv or nc1 files.

HSM is include with the collection and inside Inventor. It could be very useful to export DSTV & Nc1 format with HSM.

Yeah! We need this interface!

Its Like VHS & BETA , Or PC & IOS.

Who will prevail?

I was really impressed when my DSTV file even carried quantity of a given part! This is huge when importing to machine software.

The DXF/DWG format has fallen behind. With the Robotic Machines a 2 dimensional representation is inadequate.

Inventor really needs a built-in export to DSTV (.nc1) option. This would be great as the recent increase in robotic materials processing is taking off, and the only way to get DSTV from Inventor files is to use 3rd party software.

@ray_m Did you ever find a solution? We are also needing to export dstv files. We have one license for Steel Projects, but would be great if we could export directly from Inventor as we are four guys needing to do this.

@iUser my organization is using CMS from Strucsoft Solutions. It works pretty well, although it is somewhat pricey.

Where I work, we are finding that we will be needing beam line export capability more and more .

It would be a great benefit to use to be able to export DSTV files.

Here as well. Company I work for just bought a PythonX and .stp looses any etching information. Only way I can find to carry it over is using CMS.
And for what they are charging, I think its worth Autodesk getting in on even if its an upcharge. (that desperate)

I agree with these posts. Purchasing a new beam line needs the information to carry over and will greatly reduce engineering time on parts.

Whole heartedly agree! There needs to be a better way to convert .ipt files to machine language!

This is a need. We would like to make less drawings. In order to do that we would like to etch assembly information into some of our parts. This information needs to be controlled in the part (not in the NC file). We need an environment, or a way to map that information for export to a DSTV (or NC1) file.

Thumbs Up

Ideas The request was submitted in 2015. It was Archived (I don't understand the meaning of the Archived status - why can't it be voted on and it is necessary to create new ideas?)

Another requirement is similar.

The customer requests data in DSTV format
My colleague has a Tekla, the rest of us have 29 PDMC licenses. The investor allocates orders according to how the given department can work with data.
Tekla has a very simple transmission. Put simply, can Inventor do more than extrude and rotate? Hyperbole.
It's hard to be competitive when software is old and slow to improve.
We pay a lot for software customization. We would like to see this functionality appear in a future release soon.

We currently have a data exchange connector in public Beta which will provide a level of associativity with Tekla Structure - see https://help.autodesk.com/view/DATAEXCHANGE/ENU/?guid=tekla-overview.

You can apply for Beta access using https://feedback.autodesk.com/DataExchangeConnector

May not be an ideal solution but could help with some DSTV related workflows, in the interim.
