In Inventor this is already possible using pattern along a curve. Not so simple to use but it works well.

@sergio.missori, you can pattern along a path in a part context, not in assembly as it's shown in the video, in Inventor there's simply no way this is feasible. This Solidworks feature is amazing and it's something that should be added.

Pattern along curve cannot be used with chains. Chain doesn’t follow curve arc, path is distributed as straight lines with length of chain pitch. So actual chain route is shorter than the one made with arcs. You can check this by doing so. Are chain links cocentric in sprocket arcs? No they’re not.
