I've been working on an assembly that has both the electrical layout as well as the mechanical. When I lay the wires between the defined pins, it ignores physical properties of the objects in the assembly. Would it be possible for the autorouting to avoid collisions between parts?:)

Yes, collision detection withing the cable and harness would make the whole system usable. I have yet been able to create a harness where cables do not dissipate into solid surfaces. They would not do this in a real environment. Instead of doing this i have to create 3d sketches and sweep to create the cables to show routing in drawing.
