So within Inventor its not easy to get to a specific selection set from the inventor browser, BOM or Vault browser. I have added the idea for vault here https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/vault-ideas/vault-browser-grid-view-with-filters/idi-p/9317133 this would be good be as you may want to filter on system based properties as well as UDP's but this should also be possible through the BOM as there may be properties that are not checked in yet or you may not be using vault I think the BOM is the ideal place to do this as it has options for BOM structure so you can sort but not filter so it would be better and easier for selection if filtering is possible. Next is when you exit the BOM the selection is lost as per this idea https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-ideas/keep-selected-components-in-bom-after-closing-the-wind... then you could do as you wish with that selection. Also in the BOM when selected it would be good that you could right click and copy those components so you could paste them into another assembly as well as when you exit.
