Bolted Connections - add support for holes in multibody parts

Given a multibody part. The part contains a body comprised of an extrusion and a tapped hole.

Now use the Make Components tool to create an assembly and the part from the body.

Now try to use the Bolted Connection (BC) tool. With Inventor 2022, the BC tool cannot recognize the hole feature.

Our workaround is to add the holes to the parts after the Make Components tool. Unfortunately, this impacts the benefit of the multibody part communicating parameters to all bodies/parts.

Perhaps it is best practice not to place tapped holes in the multibody part. What is your experience?

I think it would be useful if the BC tool could recognize the hole feature derived from the multibody.

This is a one of the many weaknesses with Bolted Connection. 

Feature recognition works for almost everything else but not Bolted Connection, clearly the information is there.
