A tool for identifying redundant constraints in assemblies would be a big improvement to Autodesk Inventor. In larger or more complex assemblies, tracking down redundant constraints is often a trial-and-error process—suppressing constraints one at a time and trying to figure out what’s actually holding a part or assembly in place. It’s time-consuming and easy to miss something.
It would be extremely helpful to have a tool that can scan an assembly and clearly identify which constraints are redundant, ideally grouping them so you can see how they relate to each other.
A “Fix All” option could automatically remove or suppress redundant constraints, while a step-by-step mode would let users go through each group individually. This would give users control over which constraints to keep and which to remove, instead of guessing.
Overall, this would make troubleshooting assemblies much faster and less frustrating, especially as designs get more complex.
