Greetings,
A few years ago I saved a presentation about a Dynamic and Advanced Content Library
It was a concept from Autodesk to implement in Inventor
It was showcased also with integrating several wiring schematics / enviroments (pnuematic, programming, elektrical, simulating, ...)
This looked like the next Giant leap in Inventor which was going to be put out there along with the Shape Generator at the time
However there has never been a wisper about it since and I find it sad
So I was wondering if there are still plans for this?
Since it would be a very nice step towards full elektromechanical design, aka 1 man army, no cloud integration needed
See attached screenshot from some captures I took in that presentation
Since I find it hard to get proper libraries in Inventor from manufacterers, and I don't like to redraw entire catalogues
And downloading each file as an actual file aka 10 pump files if you want a few different designs is ok for rare parts but not for "standards"
Yes there are sites like Traceparts etc, but for the majority it's not super usefull and a lot of manufacterers are putting out BIM catalogues
But I can't use those in Inventor so, ...
Best example I have, is the electrical catalogue in Inventor, where you actually need to Fysicly link the database to each part file, wich is maddness
Tube & Piping is a bit better with the publishing into the content center, but it's severly lacking catalogues to be fully usefull
PS 01: Tube & Piping: Not being able to split a route into several is annoying (T piece for example)
PS 02: If it's made availible for the people who are staying on Maintanance ofcourse 😞
So untill a time were this is implemented I'll have to keep using ducktape to keep it all together 😉
Kind Regards,
Nico Van Donick
