Will Intel HD 4000 run Autodesk Inventor

Not applicable

The System Requirements for Autodesk Inventor 2016 indicate Microsoft 3D 10 capable graphics or better.  I have an Intel HD 4000 graphics card.  These are two different manufacturers so I do not know if my Graphics card is capable of running Autodesk Inventor as a student.  My system is Windows 10 operating system.  It is 64 bit.  Can you tell me if my graphics card will support Autodesk Inventor?

Hi there,

Yes that graphics card will run Inventor, but i'd highly suggest looking at different ones if you're going to be using the software a lot.

Autodesk suggest Nvidia Quadro cards, but these are very expensive.

If money is a limitation (I'm guessing this is the case as you're a student), you should look into getting an Nvidia Geforce card, a 1050 or a 1050 Ti would suffice as long as what you're doing isn't highly complex. Although these are primarily gaming cards, they will run inventor smoothly as i'm pretty sure the software relies more heavily on DirectX than OpenGL nowadays. You can get these for around the £160 mark and they would be good for years.

I hope his advice comes in handy, if not now then in the future!

As the responses note, many graphics cards will run the program, it just depends on what you are trying to achieve. If it is for professional everyday use I would strongly recommend meeting the requirements @Anonymous shared.
