Why will it not save the model?

It opens the step file just fine. But i am unable to save it. any ideas?

Are you working with Inventor or Fusion? Are you working in a Vault environment?

So, you have opened a step file either a part or an assembly. Have you chose to convert the model or use as a reference? If reference, does the reference file sit outside your workspace?

Its in workspace. I could save it to the same path when i used the reference file only method. Can i still add workpoints etc. to reference file iam? if so i guess this model is ok for now. But we might chance brackets etc. So it is of somewhat use to figure this out.
