Why is my model shown in isometric?

I have a model which is placed in an assembly grounded at origin.  AI2018 shows the assembly in isometric

The View Cube says I should be seeing the Bottom of the model.  The face with the threaded holes is actually the Front.

Why do I have this orientation?

I don't have access to 2018 for a couple of hours but I suspect your assembly (might even be the template) has a different orientation.

Start with your assembly but try both models, rightclick the view cube and click "RESET FRONT"

Here's how to change it and reset it.

Don't know how it ended up in that orientation, seems fine when i open it on my pc.

Your .iam was empty, so couldn't see your situation, but inserting the ipt gave a normal isometric/front view.

Any chance the "front" or "top" got set differently at some point?

Does resetting the "front" help?

You should be able to get the viewcube to your desired orientation using the options available.

Hope that helps.
