why do I get this error ?

 

when I try to constrain this cirkel to the origin point Iget an Error?

but if I just pull  it a lillte away and do the same .. It make no error .. Why is that ... error in what i do or the program .. It is inventor 2020 i use

Tried in 2025 and it does the same.

Inventor seems to see a point already on the origin point location, as being the origin point itself. So, you can't constrain it to itself.

Try and constrain a point to the origin point when in the same location, it says it already exists.

Just an odd interaction, but a very easy one to work around.

Something wrong with the background point selection.

When there is a point, it'll select that point.

When there is no point, it'll project one.

 

I use auto Project Origin:

Hi! I can reproduce the behavior. It seems that Inventor is confused by the points, since they are on top of each other. Moving the circle aside relax the confusion.
