Weld bead colors in Drawing

Hello,

I'm wondering if it's possible to change the color of the weld bead in the drawing? It might be a stretch, but what we're looking for is the weldment in the drawing to not be shaded, but have the weld beads show up Red. I know it's possible to change the bead color on the model and have it show up in the drawing if the shading was on.

Thank you.

Hi! I think you have answered your own question. Making the Weld beads in red in the assembly is the only way to highlight it in red.

Many thanks!

Hello @awallTE8HK,

How about to work with End fill and set any color for them as you want.

Hope it helps!

Thanks, I'll use this, although it would be nice to see the actual bead color along the part without having the drawing style shaded, but i guess that's not possible.

As a possible manual workaround you may be able to use a sketch in the drawing to project the outlines of the weld and fill it with a red hatch . It would be time consuming for a large project but if you really need something highlighted it should work.

That would work, we do have quite a bit of weldments to go through so it would be time consuming. I think we'll just leave it out and call out the welds like normal. Thanks for the response though!

I've changed the weld bead color and it still shows up as black on shaded views. What's the secret?
