virtual parts in an assembly

My main assembly is finished. now i need to to add 50-60 lines in the partlist, like paint, welding material etc. What would be the best workflow?

Make a seperate subassembly with virtual parts in it, that I place as a whole in my main assembly? or...?

It seems when I create a virtual part with my normal ipt template selected, the custom iproperties does not come through. Is there a seperate template that should be used when working with virtual parts?

Thx, Johan

  • Add virtual parts indeed
  • add them as custom to the partslist
  • use vault items to achieve this

  • what do you mean with that (Normal Ipt) there is no template for virtual parts, is it?

It seems not, so I cannot predefine custom iproperties then?

Is far as I know not, indeed.

You could create a rule or add in for it to create VP with properties defined.
