Vertical Dimension Text with Leader

Is there a way to rotate the text of a vertically oriented dimension, when the text has the leader option activated?

Please reference the attached image. I would like to have the 1" dimension text oriented 90 degrees to be the same as all other dimensions in the image. I've not been able to find any options to allow me to do this. Am I missing something or is it just not possible in the inventor drawing environment?

Hi Nick,

This can be changed easily. Right-click on any of the dimension -> Edit Dimension Style. You will see a dialog. Find "Text" tab -> Orientation -> Linear -> click on the right-most button. There are three options. I think "Inline-Horizontal" is what you are looking for.

Unfortunately, what you've posted doesn't solve the issue!

The 1" dimension in my attached screen shot is the dimension text that I'm trying to rotate 90 degrees to match the orientation of all the other dimension text shown in the screen shot. I've tried many different settings to no avail. The 1" dimension originally matches the orientation of all the other dimensions. It's not until I select the 1" dimension, RMB click, options, and select leader, the 1" dimension automatically rotates 90 degrees clockwise into the horizontal position. This automatic rotation of the text to horizontal is the behavior I'm trying to avoid. I want the 1" dimension text to have the same vertical orientation as all other dimension text in the screen shot, but with a leader. However, when a leader is activated on a dimension text of any orientation other than horizontal, it automatically rotates the text to be horizontal.

Hello @Anonymous I've tried many different ways, and I do not believe that you can convert a dimension to a leader and have the text rotate 90°. 

The only way I can think to get it vertical is to create your dimension, check Hide Dimension Value and put a space in the text value to make it blank. Create a leader to the center point of the dimension and your leader will stick. You could then link to the model value parameter if it is defined by name.

This is not ideal but would get you going in a pinch. I believe this to be a limitation, if you want to create an Inventor Idea that would be helpful.
