Variations on standard Content Center Parts

Can't figure out a way to do this so hopefully someone else has some input, but I was wanting to make a few custom pieces (Mostly tube and angles for the frame generator) but I can't figure out how to pull out the template for an existing CC part. My intent was to make a copy of an existing part (ie. ANSI AISC tubing), make some changes to the available parts (Especially how they're named, as they lack any material designations), and re-insert it as a custom part for later use.

Anyone have any input? I know how I could go about making a new part from scratch but I know it would take a lot more time than editing what already exists, plus I don't know if the frame generator requires designing parts a specific way

Hi!

Go to Manage tab, and publish the model choosing the propper tool.

You can publish struture elements, tubes (for routing), etc.

Note: If you want to use it in frame generator you must publish those elements as STRUTURAL elements, not as TUBE AND PIPE. Tube and pipe elements mean to be used with inventor professional tube and pipe module, doesn't work in frame generator. Also elbows and curve tubes published doenst work in frame generator, only strait elements.

Tips:To create a custom strutural elemet, just draw the profile end make a extrusion with 1mm, then use the publish tool e fill all the forms you need.

The elbows: you can place it mannually and then use it as a frontier to cut the tubes.

To do custom curved tubes, you can use frame generator based in sketch with curved lines.
