Inventor 2016 default commands now require the Enter button to be pressed.

Today I had Inventor 2016 loaded on my computer. I noticed that Inventor 2016 now requires the user to press the "Enter" button after typing a default Inventor 2016 command on the keyboard. Such as "C" for the "Place Constraint" dialog box. I have looked through the Applications Options and could not find anything to turn this new method off.

Does anyone know how to change this back?

Is there a good reason why this was changed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to Tools-->Customize and look at the keyboard shortcuts area.

Ensure Multi-character aliases are turned off.

If on, this requires you to type C and Enter because there may be another shortcut that is CO and it can't assume you want just C.

Mark:

See attached file. I went to Tools-->Customize and the "Use default mulit-chatacter Command Aliases" is unchecked, but I still have the issue with having to press Enter to start a default Inventor command such as "C" for the Constraint dialog box. Any other ideas?

Did you restart Inventor?

You might also have to look to see what other commands that specific letter is assigned to..

And also just in case make sure you are up to date with any service packs/updates..

Well what to you know, Inventor has other commnads with "C" + something for other commands. I removed what I would not use or one could change it to CTRL + "something" to use as a combination.

Thanks for the suggestion, it worked.

Have a great day.
