Using Task schedule 2025 to import Solid Work file to Inventor

Hi,

Anyone here using Task schedule to import Solid Work file to Inventor?

I am using it to import large number of Solid work files and it work really good but I can't control how to use my own template. It look like Task Schedule using the default template from Inventor. I deleted the standard template from Inventor in user/ public folder and replace with my template also I set the Inventor project (.ipj) to use my template. No matter how I do it I can't tell the Task schedule to use my template when convert solid work to Inventor.

What am I missing here.

Please help.

Thanks

Hi! I believe Standard templates are used. You may want to rename your templates to Standard templates. Then Inventor will use those template files on import.

Many thanks!

As Johnson says, it is using standard templates. If you don't have any standard.ipt/iam templates, it will use it's only internal standard templates, so deleting them won't work.

You will need to save your custom template as 'standard.'

Hi John

I thought the same way so 1st I remove all the default templates that install by Inventor and the location is user/public doc and Inventor version folder. and that not helping.

then I put all my company template in that folder and it not work either.

Then after reading your post then I rename all my template to the same name as Inventor default template and not working either.

Anyway what I did in my template is I add couple line of custom name and link to other properties in Inventor but after task schedule run convert from Solid Work to Inventor those property not in the new file.

I am not sure if there is another place that Task Schedule taking the template from.

This is the default template that Inventor use after install. C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2025\Templates\en-US

Thanks for helping out any other idea to try please let me know

Steve

Hi! I assume if you import it manually, the custom properties do get populate properly, right? Please share a set of files (SWX file and your template files) that exhibit the behavior with me directly at johnson.shiue@autodesk.com. I would like to understand the behavior better.

Many thanks!

Hi John,

After I try many way to import or open direct with Inventor that make me thinking the Inventor do not use template it just convert the Solid Work Custom property to Inventor custom property. Unless the Solid Work file doesn't have any custom property.

I didn't try to play with the property mapping yet.

Thanks for all your help
