Using Rip Feature

Attached is a guard for a machine i have made. I want to use the Rip feature to rip it into two halves, along the longest face. How is this done?. I tried point to point however it wont allow me to select the end point.

Using inventor professional 2020.

That's a bit complicated for rip.

Just use split and the origin plane for the tool.

Either way, you're going to have to use 'make components' (manage tab) if you want to flatten it.

Hi! I believe OP used to use SWX. Inventor Rip is different. It is meant to rip a face on a closed sheet metal part (a closed rectangle or a full cylinder) that cannot be flattened without ripping.

Many thanks!
