Use thread dimension in *.stp file?

hi experts

Is there any options to link thread dimension in *.stp file?

The correct is thread(M) instead of diameter(D)

I know this is caused by no relationship, so ,does anyone have a solution?

Thanks!!

We usually just include a 2d PDF of the .idw file with tolerances, inspection dimensions, and hole notes with our STP exports.

Other options:

Model the thread.

Use a 3D Annotation in the part file and export a STEP 242 file?

Hi! Another option is to install the free Feature Recognition Add-In for subscribers.

Many thanks!

Hi Johnson Shiue

when open stp file, using this tool it can recogize features
and save the data to import into idw.
Will it show the dimensioning?

thanks

but it can only recognize hole features, instead of thread holes.

Thus should i first recognize hole features, and edit as thread feature?

If the quantity is large, do i need to edit one by one manually?

thank you

Hi! Indeed, some manual steps are needed. Feature Recognition does not recognize thread. The thread info isn't included in the STEP file anyway.

Many thanks!

If the Holes form some sort of Pattern(s) you can recognize as Pattern(s) and then you only have to edit the seed of the pattern.  Otherwise you will have to edit each individually.
