Update ilogic component name when copy designing file name of inventor file

Im having a problem with copy design on inventor files that has an ilogic rule using a specific part name. The problem is the ilogic rule itself is being copied but the part name that ilogic is using is still using the original file name instead of the the copy designed file name that includes a prefix. This causes the ilogic rule not to work unless you manually go in and correct the file name which isnt worth doing over and over in my case. Is there a way to lock a component name in ilogic use that specific part as opposed to just looking for specific text you type in? I'm posting this to both Inventor and Vault forums because I'm not sure which program might provide a solution.

Hi @Des_Seals

Solution 1.

Make the occurrence name static by renaming the occurrence. Slow click the name in the browser and change to a generic name such as "Part1". Use this occurrence name in the code. Now whenever you copy the files the occurrence name no longer updates to that of the file name. The static occurrence name allows the file referencing to be swapped without breaking the code.

Solution2.

The alternative to this method is to use ilogic copy design which should rename the occurrence both in the browser and in the ilogic rule.
