Unresolved references - placing component possible but not allowed

Just posting this hint I have just figured out while working on a project I forgot to take libraries for when moving to another system

Perhaps you had at some point work with assembly with unresolved references and found out, sadly, that inventor is not allowing you to place assemblies ias components (perhaps also parts).

Well, I have just figured out that in fact you can trick inventor to just allow you to do that.

Solution is simple:

1) create new empty assembly

2) place a component you want to place in your assembly with unresolved components

3)select this component

4)ctrl+c

5)ctrl+v in target assembly

There you have it, you have just illegally placed component in to assembly with unresolved references. 😉

Nice idea but I can't help thinking that this will lead to some pain later on.

it does not.

What I tried was a full real life use in a working project.
