unable to transform surface model to solid

Hi all,

I had to make a complicated cover plate for a gravestone. In a solid I didn't manage but in a surface model it was ok. i need to get it back to a solid now for our cnc machine but I can't get it to work. I tried thicken, offset,... but always fault messages.

Am I overlooking something??

Hi!

There are some issues to stitch the surfaces on import.

You have a repeated face that will not stitch properlly.

  1. Enter "construction mode" and unstitch all faces.
  2. Delete the repeated face
  3. and stitch again, it will be fine

Hi! There are multiple issues with the imported bodies. The face orientations are incorrect and there is an overlapped face on the left. You may want to right-click on the Composite node -> Repair Bodies -> Find Errors -> delete the overlapped face -> Unstitch all -> Restitch all with a tighter tolerance (goes from 0.00001mm and walks its way up).

Many thanks!

@CCarreiras

Hi,

Thanks for the help. But i can't open the model. I'm working with Inventor 2020. Is it possible to make a step or save it as a 2020 model?

Thanks
