Unable to modify dimensions

Hi,

I was in sketch mode and all of sudden I cudnt modify dimensions :(. Is there any key which locks the dimensions. I closed the part file and Inventor and reopened. still not effect. I even tried doing via parameters but it wudnt change. I am suspecting I have pressed a function key. for example, I wanted to change from 99 by default to 75 mm for locating hole, its doesn't change. Is there anything called dimension lock which I activated by mistake ?

Its not the only dimension I tried changing other dimensions as well in same sketch but same effect. I even deleted the sketch altogether and restarted new sketch but dim wud go back to original 99. I guess inventor is in weekend mode.

Let me know. Will check on Monday.

Regards,

Yash

Hi All,

Thank you for help. Its neither pattern nor other issue. I am attaching word file with screenshot. And also part. when I try to override it comes as message saying its consumed by sketch. and I cant change in parameters too.

I am also attaching my sketch settings in application option in case there is something missing. I created the body of the car in normal way only when I implemented new sketch this issue has come up, so I wud assume application option has nothing to do. I am creating recess hole for bolt.

Thanks,

Yash

d72 edits just fine on my machine.

Double-click, change 100mm to 130mm, update part, hole moves.

It also works via editing in the Parameter page.

Hi Todd,

Must be something at my end. I tried accepting dimension and then type in d72=whatever dim I wanted in dim box, it updates. But earlier, I cud just double click and change now it doesn't. even in holes, I have to type = before dimension or else it doesn't change. So, I need to modify dimension when I create.

Yash

Hi All,

Just figured out what went wrong...My num lock was on/off and I was entering numeric value from number pad so didn't register/update. I entered the dim using keys above alphabet , that's when I realised my num lock was on.

However, now when I try to select a plane to sketch, it doesn't show plane straight in front of me like looking at plane its isometric even after I select the face to sketch.

Yash

Hi! The option to control the behavior can be found at Tools -> Application Options -> Sketch -> "Look at." One is for  part and one is for assembly.

Many thanks!

Hi Everyone,

Although original issue was fixed by myself as num lock was pressed. But thank you all for putting your time in. I have learnt something new with the solutions you provided.

Yash
