Tutorials on basic physics simulation?

Essentially I need to validate redesign of enclosure to improve center of gravity. So I need to show one force on a rectangular prism with 4 contacts, acting parallel to ground. 

I saw this post from @JDMather but all the links are dead. 

Is there a book that covers this material well?
