Trying to make a bend half tube as a beginner

Hi !

I'm working for an association where I have to 3D model some parts that people have broken, to repair it. Like someone can have a piece of a toaster that broke and I'll have to model it to replace the broken part.

Since about a week now I'm kinda stuck on this. It's a handle for lawnmower.

So I've took a picture and tried to model it using a picture, for that part I had no issue.

Now I have some blocks who are the right size, right curve and all, the issue is to "dig" the lower size of those to make it curved (like half a tube).

So I tried making an extrusion and using the "bend part" function. I thought I would be able to make an extrusion, bend it then make it a cut instead of a solid.

It does work as expected, the issue is that it bends everything. I thought I could select an extrusion to bend it but the function seems to bend all parts without distinction.

I tried searching and searching but I'm not sure I'm using the right keywords.

I'm conscious I probably am not using the right method at all.

Anyway, here's the project and pictures of the handle I have to model.

Thank you in advance for any answer.

P.S : sorry I do feel like I explained myself poorly, my native language isn't english, habitually I'm better at expressing myself but here the vocabulary here gets too technical for me.

An extruded cylinder for the shaft, maybe a loft/extrude for the square-ish boss, then a sweep for the handle. Adding some ribs for stiffeners. Just a quick assessment.

Hi !

Thanks for the reply, and sorry for replying late myself.

I tried and finally a loft was the solution I needed.

Thank you ! I wish you a nice day !
