Transfer Content Center Library from Server to Desktop

I'm trying to transfer a Vault server based Content Library to Desktop Content but the dialog keeps appearing as empty. What would prevent it from being available for import?

Are you logged into the Vault?  Is the content center set to read only?

Hi! Could you take a look at the following page and see if it applies to your case?

Many thanks!

I'm trying to create a local desktop content copy of the default Content Center Libraries, so yes they are read-only. I wish Autodesk would just provide a direct download link for the idcl files.

@ThomasRambach

The library transfer (desktop to Vault or Vault to desktop) only works on custom read/write content center libraries.  In this case you'll need to use the Inventor installation media to install the out-of-box content center libraries.

I figured it out. I'm not sure why Autodesk has downloads for server based content but desktop content you need the installation media. It's convoluted.

I'm getting the same results in 2026.2.  Does anybody know what this fix is?

Hi ThomasRambachcdavisX3WET

Transfer wizard tool is designed to work with Read Write libraries, it's not working with Read Only libraries.

Other thing why you can't see any library in the list could be the fact, that all Libraries are available on target already.
