Toolbar/Model Browser/ Toolbar Icons Disappearing - Inventor 2022

Hi all,

I have been having this problem ever since I installed Inventor 2022, where after around 10-15 minutes of use I am unable to click anything on the top bar or the model browser, highlighted in red in the picture below.

The only solution I have found is to minimise and maximise the screen a few times, or sometimes this doesn't work and I am forced to restart the software entirely. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this? It's not the end of the world having to restart it, but its really starting to get on my nerves!

Many thanks in advance!!

Hi!

Regarding your solution (minimize/maximize) I would say that it's a graphical issue.

When you do that you are "forcing" the restart of the graphic card.

Update windows and graphic card drivers would be a possible solution.

Thank you for replying!

That's a good suggestion, but unfortunately it still hasn't solved the issue. I am using a Nvidia P2000 Graphics Card, and alongside two 4K monitors.

Many thanks,

Kai

Hi! Please make sure all critical Windows updates are installed and graphics driver is updated. Also, if you use Windows Text Cursor option, please disable it. It is known to cause instability.

If nothing helps, try using Inventor Reset Utility (All Programs -> Autodesk -> Inventor 2022 -> Tools). It will reset all Inventor settings back to install default.

Many thanks!

I updated the driver, ensured the windows text cursor is off and reset all Inventor settings to default. Unfortunately, the problem persists. The model browser and tool bar will sometimes simply not be clickable and the whole program has to be restart.

Anyone have any further ideas?

After your comment bradeneuropeArthur, I changed my resolution from 3840x2160 to 1080p and worked all yesterday without the issue occurring once! Thanks! Anyone know anything more about an instability using dual screen and a resolution of 3840x2160 on Inventor 2022? This has never happened to me on Inventor 2021.

Hi! I am on the same resolution but single monitor. I don't have the issue. What is the Scale you use? Are the two monitors having the same scale?

Many thanks!

Sorry for the slow reply, I have been on holiday..

I am using the recommended 150% scaling on both monitors.

I have attached an additional picture of what it looks like when the problem occurs, note the model browser and top toolbar.

Hi! This may be related to the Qt UI framework. Please take a look at the following article and see if it helps.
