THREAD.XLS is empty

Hi,

i'm on Inventor 2017. 

i'm struggling to get M13x1.0 thread. i believe it's not standard. but i tried to specify on the Thread.xls, it doesn't work.

i tried to edit the thread.xls, it's empty. not a single data in it.

i tried getting it from somewhere in this forum and replace it, i found out that the inventor doesn't show the m13 x 1.0 as well too.

help needed here.

It does not work.

Because my Thread.XLS is empty, I tried downloading someone else copy.



And I put in the numbers I wanted.. and it's still not working. I plugged in
M13x1.0

added m13 x 1.0, initially the file was empty, i copy and overwrite the thread.xls from others i fetch from the internet

but not shown below when i tried.

One possibility is that you are not changing the correct file.  In your active project, where is Folder Options > Design Data pointing?  If it is 'Default', where is Application Options > File > Design Data pointing?  Under that Design Data folder (in the \XLS\<language> subfolder) is where you will find the Thread.xls file that Inventor is using.

I also think that you can't change the styles on the fly and expect them to immediately update. I think (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that you have to restart Inventor before the changes kick in.

Yes.  I assumed that went without saying, but probably a poor assumption.  Thanks for saying it!

I'm aware of that I need to shut down the inventor before making changes
into Thread.XLS

but



1) It's empty to begin with

2) Even if I use the file from someone else, it's still the same

3) I tried adding extra thread into the file and it's not showing up in
inventor.

4) Yes I closed inventor everytime i try to make changes. Its still not
showing.
