You want the loft edge to match the green line?

This problem is happening because when you make create the surface thickness the program is taking the thickness perpendicular to the surface and since the surface is at an angle to the circle the edge doesn't match up with the circle.

I was able to get what I think you were looking for, but I did not use the original surface.

Since you want the edges to be seamless, the best way would be to just create a solid loft, as my file has.

For a solid loft you will need to create sketches first.

How will this part(s?) be manufactured.

What is the material?

The manufacturing process determines how this part(s) should be modeled.

well, how do I suppose to create those sketches because when I create a sketch then it still selects the edges. I just can't figure it out.

p.s: thanks for all the help!

Your sketches are not constrained and the entire model is poorly done.

Once I know the manufacturing process - someone can demonstrate how it should be modeled.

When in the loft command click the 'selections' window and then click on the sketch in the browser, from here you will need to select the area for which the loft will take place.
Repeat again but select the second sketch and area corresponding to that sketch.

JDmather, this is not getting manurfactured and the material should just be stainless steel because no need of manurfacturing. its a part for a gas turbine and after we have to put it all togheter and simulate it. im still a student and working with autocad isnt my greatest ability. today was also the day i firstly worked with loft.

mwighton, thnx, i will try that out.

Hi,

if it helps, here is another way of doing what i think you are trying to achieve (see attached "problem_a.ipt". Basically, i added one sketch ("sketch7"), used that to create "LoftSrf2" & Then used this loft and "LoftSrf1" (which you already created) as input to "Sculpt1".

I noticed Mwighton gave you one solution, but that seems to have uncovered a problem (looks like a bug), which may cause problems in down-stream features. We will take a closer look at that, but just so you can see the weirdness, here is a half section view of the model "problem_new.ipt":

Hope it helps,

Thanks
