Suggestion for improving the interface

When you suppress dependencies in Browser, the icon turns gray. but in view of the fact that the icons are very small, this is not very informative. It's hard to see that addiction is suppressed. I propose to make the text strikethrough in parallel with this.

Hi! I think you may want to change the DPI (scaling) on your machine. Please go to Display Options -> change the scaling to a bigger value. The icons should look bigger.

Many thanks!

Hi! Do you mind elaborating what is not working? Please share a screenshot showing the problem.

Many thanks!

Everything is working. But I don't like a lot about the way it is displayed.

Do you see the first arrow? Do you think you can see her well? And the second one? can you see her? Me not? Is it very informative in your opinion?

Long time pet peeve.  Normal arrows for constraints are buried in the model and you have to zoom far out in order for them to appear so you know which way your constraints need to go.

This is what we are talking about. Here's another example. Don't the developers understand this? Why do I need to do scaling every time when you can change the visualization of the interface? And I don’t know how to convey this idea to these lamers.

Hi Andrei,

Many thanks for sharing the detail! I think I know the issues now. It is about the geometric glyph in assembly constraint, particularly when the model geometry is relatively big. The relative sizing of the direction arrow vs a vertex does not seem to be reasonable. At the moment, I am not aware of a way to control the size. It seems to be hard-coded.

I will work with the project team to understand it better.

Thanks again!

There is also a problem with dimensions in the sketch. I have them quite complicated. And when applying dimensions, it is important that they stay where I placed them. And they did not run away from their seats when further editing and scaling the sketch

Well, here's something else. Conflicting dependencies are not highlighted in any way. Well, here's something else. Conflicting dependencies are not highlighted in any way. Only the component is highlighted. And to understand what conflicts with what is impossible.

If you are somehow connected with the developers, then it would be great to communicate not through this resource, but directly. I could make a lot of suggestions for improvement as I deal with the inventory from its fourth version.

Hi Andrei,

I am the most senior QA member for Inventor team. I work closely with various project/product teams. It sounds like you have quite a few improvement suggestions to Inventor. Please feel free to sign up Inventor Feedback Community.

https://autode.sk/InventorBeta

There you can share you ideas with project team members and other community users. And, you can use the latest internal build on an install-free environment.

Many thanks!

I understand that I am just a user of which there are many. But I am a user with a lot of experience. And for my 58 years I am tired of all bureaucracy. If the development team doesn't want to take these things into account, then I'm even less interested in knocking on a closed door. Good luck.

Hi Andrei,

I am offering my best help. I am not sure where the negativity comes from. I can tell that you are unhappy with the status quo, probably other things too. However, I do appreciate your suggestions and insights.

I personally think the Inventor Feedback Community is the best place to further discuss requirements. We all can learn from each other.

Many thanks!

Nothing personal. The pursuit of profit and mega corporations have killed more than one good idea. I know this from my own experience. But the effectiveness of your forum is very low for product improvement. Good luck again.

I'm an active member of the Beta forum and I have to say that they are brilliant. They listen to everyone's input, and whilst they don't always change the software to your liking, they do explain the reasons for it.

It's definitely worth a try.

I do also agree that a lot of ideas get 'archived' when they have large numbers of likes. This is probably due to it being a massive change in the software in order to achieve something small, but it would be nice for Autodesk say why something has been archived as it is quite disappointing when really obvious changes that need doing are archived.
