Sub Assemblies in Bom

Hello,

I am trying to figure out, in the bill of materials. I have two sub assemblies which have the same parts making them up, the difference is that they are a left and a right. So making the manual up, I get call outs for the same parts in two different places. Is there a way to combine parts in sub assemblies in the top level assemblies.

Thank you

Are you familiar with the ins/outs of making those parts bom structure phantom?

Not sure if thats what you are trying to achieve?

I am not to familiar with the phantom structure, I am reading more into it right now. My problem right now is that I have two drive motors that have bolts, washer, etc. The motors are the same except for being a right and left. So my bill of materials keeps calling out all the peace parts for each separated.

In general a "phantom" in most ERP systems is a non-stocked subassembly where the components of those subs are pushed up into the upper level bom..

The subassembly is really just for making the cad operator or bill of material creators job easier/quicker if that is frequently used in many products..

As you stated for a manual I'm not sure if including bom structure is necessary or if you just want a flat out parts list...
