Stress Analysis and Inventor Studio greyed out

In the Environments tab in Inventor 2016, the Stress Analysis and Inventor Studio are greyed out. I have 3 computers, 2 of which are laptops, both have these functions working, however on my main desktop, they are not. I've already gone through the registry editor and attempted to fix it that way. I am the only user.

Hi,

Have your checked the addin loaded or not? go to Tools -> Add-ins for a quick check.

or try to repair the application in the control panel.

Hope it helps!

Hello @Headhead4 just a thought, are you at the top level of the assembly?

If within an assembly you have dived into a part/sub-assembly the Environment Tabs will be greyed out.

If so, Return to Top and see if they come back.

If not, check Environments > Manage > Add-Ins > Load Behavior > Loaded

I've tried and I just recently reinstalled it and that did nothing. I think it has to do with a seperate program I don't have installed. For example, the thread tool does not work if Microsoft Excel is not installed.

@Headhead4 have you updated to the most recent Microsoft update recently? Since you mention a thread issue, it might be related to this:

I have. That was the first thing I thought. What I think is weird is my laptop has the same exact programs and settings as my desktop and the laptop has no problem.

I realized I didn't answer your question. It's greyed out in general. I'll make a new part, go to environments, and Stress analysis and Inventor Studio will be greyed out.

Just to be sure - do you have MS Excel on this machine?

Just to be sure - can you go to Help>About Inventor and post screen shot of your version of Inventor (showing service pack level)?

@Headhead4 thanks for the screenshots, yeah it should not be greyed out when creating new part with the add-ins loaded.

As a general suggestion, make sure that the 2016 version is updated to current.

@Headhead4

You should never post your personal Serial Number on a public forum.

I was expecting an image something like this (with Serial Number removed).

Note that you are on RTM release (SP0) - you should install the latest Service Packs and Updates for your version of Inventor.

Be sure to have UAC on lowest level during install of Service Packs.
