Strange issues with notes (Leader Text) in drawings

A new issue has been reoccurring in the last few days with notes. The behaviour includes:

  • New notes are automatically populated with text from a previous note.
  • Font is being changed to 415 point Arial (default is 3,5 point ISOCPEUR)
  • An error message appears that "Expected font () is not available."
  • The "Format Text" window contents do not fill the window size.
  • The "Stretch(%)" amount is set to -100 triggering an error to "Enter a number between 1 and 32767."
  • Setting a note border does not encapsulate the text and instead appears as a tiny square at the beginning of the note.

I've updated to 2025.1 and the issue persists. The Styles in the template look fine, and I've been using it for months without issue.

Hi! This could be Text style setting related or font corruption related or Preset related. Please share the idw file that exhibits the behavior here. I would like to understand it better.

Many thanks!

Thanks. I'm exclusively working with assemblies but I've made a simple drawing of just one part which easily replicates some of the issues. Let me know if you want more. A note in the drawing explains things further.

Hi Chris,

Many thanks for sharing the files! I do confirm the defective behavior, though I cannot explain it. I am working with the project team to understand it better.

Thanks again!

Great, thanks.

Do you think a full reinstall is necessary to fix the issue?

Hi Chris,

I am not sure. But it has been confirmed as a defect. Something seems wrong in terms of the drawing styles on your machine. Are you using custom styles? Does the same issue happen if you use the shipping Styles Library under \Design Data\?

Many thanks!
