Is there a way to import Solidworks files (SLDPRT) so that the features are also imported? I wasn't able to do it even with simple designs. How should it be done? The other way around (Inventor to Solidworks) it worked without trouble.

There is a plugin that could help you in that (Autodesk Inventor Feature Recognition app):

Hi @samsonic3

Currently there is no way to import solidworks files with the features. However, we have the capability to import a reference model using AnyCAD workflows. i.e. you can import the file and choose the "reference method" in the import dialog - which means, that anytime you change the SWX file, you can update the Inventor model which references the SWX File and see the updates.

You could also find if there is a 3rd party feature recognition program and run that on the imported model to get the features.

Thanks

Hi! On top of what experts mentioned here, there is a tool called GoToInventor, developed by our partner ITI. It can help translate SWX parts, assemblies, and drawings to Inventor equivalents with associativity.

Many thanks!

I tried to download Feature Recognition but there is no download link in the app.autodesk.com site. It only says

"Download is exclusive to Autodesk Subscription Customers".

I am signed in and have Autodesk Flex so I think I should be qualified to download?

E. Sent an email to autodesk support about the problem.
