Slot assembly

Hi guys,

I can't figure out how to put the cilinder in the slot (two different part in assembly). In the slot it must be able do rotation and 1d translate If i use the planar joint it doesn't allow me to put limits in place (they turn grey and I can't filll anything in). How can I constrain this in assembly?

Thanks in advance,

Hi!

  • Create a constraint to constrain vertical movement between both parts.
  • Create a mate between the slide axis and slot plane, as in the image below
  • Create a contact set for both parts (Green squares in the image)
  • Activate the contact solver in Inspect tab

Hi,
Sometimes using Contact Analysis can slow down the simulation a lot.

You can also consider the option of setting the ranges of parameter changes when applying assembly constraines
