Hi everyone
Could someone give me some advice regarding motion simulation?
I don't know if it is possible in this case.
The red pins should move in individual grooves.
It's actually the way of an inverted CNC machine. We don't move the cutting knife, but we create the movement with the help of pins in the grooves.
Thank you
Hi
Ultimately, you need to transform the element into an assembly and give the components the appropriate constraints.
But first, correct the groove geometry to make sure everything will work on the assembly:
Kacper Suchomski
create a surface from the centerline side of your groove.
Then in the assembly use a transitional constraint between this surface and the pin. The pin should now follow the path of your groove.
As you can see, I made the mistake of placing the guide in the center, but it seems it only works with surfaces.
I'm guessing you'll catch my drift... Transitional Constraints is the constraint you need 😉
It's not easy, and I think, that it can work only partionally. The small groove needs a different shape.
You can test it by driving the Angle by constraint
Walter Holzwarth
Exactly. It's not that easy because there are 2 grooves.
The point is that it describes a certain shape, so I can't change the shape of the second groove.
Perhaps it could be set in motion using dynamic simulation.
