Simple constraints causing problems in assembly

Inventor is having problems making simple constraints. I managed to get the nipple constained to the pillow bearing in all other 7 locations, but I get errors when trying to get this incidence to constrain properly. Both parts have been converted from other filetypes, the nipple was a solidpart (from McMaster), i dont remember what the bearing was originally, but, as I mentioned, no problems in the other 7 locations.

I show the nipple and the one constaint it has, and the bearing and it's constraints, nothing crazy, then I try to add a flush constraint, it takes a minute, then I apply it, and get an error message.

also, it is showing the show Sick button, yet when I click it, no sick constraints are shown, nor are there any in the relationship list.

From the quick glance I saw looks like you have the wrong "Solution" selected.  You should have "Flush" instead of "Mate"... See the visual arrows it gives on your selected faces..

You will need to post the parts/assemblies for us to investigate.. \

Should only need 2 parts in a simple assembly to check initially.

Either way, same problem

the two parts constain fine in 7 other places. the whole assembly is very a very large file, and I always am hesitant to share because of the proprietary nature of the machine, which design I do not own.

Hi! Try this real quick. Go to Tools -> App Options -> Assembly -> check "Enable redundant relationship analysis" -> Ok. Then go to Manage -> Rebuild All. Does it work better now?

If not, please share the files here or send them (zipped) to me directly johnson.shiue@autodesk.com. I would like to understand the behavior better.

I did this, and it still didnt work.  I decided to send you the pack and go, but I got an error message that said there were pending edits. I cold have skipped it, but I didnt know what this meant, so i searched around and didnt find anything helpul, but I decided to "rebuild all" a second time. This second rebuild caused the "show sick" button to turn off and so i tried to constrain the parts again, and then it worked. So, I'm not sure why it didnt happen with the first rebuild, but it SEEMS like it is working now. Thank you for the help,

Hi Luke,

Many thanks for sharing your findings! I guess the assembly was in a partially computed state. There is a bug here. If you click Update button, the lightning bolt should go away and everything should be up-to-date. If Rebuild All helps, it means something is wrong.
